Frequently Asked Questions — English

Why do we swap ?

A piece of art is not a one-time use item ! After having exhibited several times a work without having sold it, the swap will be a new way to make it circulate and so, being highlighted while acquiring the recognition of our peers. On the other side, it will lead to new encounters and opportunities at the same time as we decongest our studios.

What can you offer in the swap ?

Anything that seems interesting to you so that we discover and understand your work: a piece, of course, a portion of installation, but also what is at its periphery. In the studio, we have lots of tests, sketches, prototypes, documentation and notes; raw elements, witnesses of a reflection, which are as important as a finished piece. As an artist, we may want to own these indeterminate things that justify a production.

What’s the traffic?

The place where you swipe the anonymous pieces of the artists on the application. When you swipe left, the work doesn't interest you. When you swipe right, it enters your favorites’ library.

Why are the traffic pieces anonymous?

There are many isolated artists who stay far from the privileged circles and networks. By placing anonymity at the beginning of the process, we want to create an equal opportunity to be discovered.

What is the purpose of the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen?

Placed in the navigation bar, the "+" icon is used to add a work to your catalog.

How to make a proposal ?

Click on the handshake icon in the swipe or in the detail of a work. For this coveted piece, the artist owner receives a notification in his "received proposals" section. He has there a direct access to your pieces in swap, can look at them and choose one in return. When his choice is made, you both receive a notification in your mailbox where you discover who is the artist behind the work. You can then chat, discover each other's work and agree on the terms of the exchange.

How to send your piece?

At first, we let you go through the standard platforms if you are far from the artist you are trading with. We are thinking of offering soon a delivery by a professional carrier via ATFU.

Who is behind ATFU?

Clara Citron and Sirine Ammar, visual artists and Clémentine Tissot, artist-liaison.

Where to contact us?

Within the mailbox, the hotline button is meant to receive your positive or negative feedbacks, to report bugs, abusive behaviors (an artist who posted a copy of your work for example) or for any question.
